On Saturday, Both Highcliffe cubs and scout competed in the district swimming gala, The cubs won for the second year running the cubs swimming cup, great effort on the cubs side by almost winning all their races.
The Scouts and Cubs both worked together to win the District group cup by just beating Mudeford (last year winners) who how came second this year. Group race included the Tee shirt challedge, boat pull race, freestyle relay and the ball race.
Thanks for the massive effort from all the scouts and cubs that participated in the event and also to the parents and supporters that turned up to cheers us on.
As normal Mike (scouts), Ziggy and Lucky all got thrown in to celebrate

Having won the District Scrapstore challenge, Highcliffe cubs were proud to represent Christchurch at the County event in Dorchester. Seven teams competed against each other, and the mystery subject was to build a theme park for Dorset from the recycled rubbish. Each team had to come up with a subject; Highcliffe chose “Easter”, and produced some excellent designs for the park. Congratulations to everyone who took part!
We are just about to finalise the plant orders for this year and are now looking to get all the final order forms and monies in this week. Please place your scouts orders on the website ASAP or give your paper orders to Amy or your group leader this week.
We would like to thank all the parents that have entered their scouts, cubs and beavers orders in the website already. We have around 400 orders and by each person doing their own bit has really saved a lot of work done by the plant team in the years before.
Plus a BiG thank you to Helen and Marion who has helped to collate and double check all the orders in the back end system too.
Here is the video we made of pictures and videos from Snowtrax. All cubs had a great time and they were really HAPPY…
We are proud to say that our team put in a great effort and won the District scrapheap challenge trophy this year. Congratulaion to all the Cubs that took part.
All the Cubs did great models in their Sixes a couple of weeks before this event and had lots of fun and 6 cubs volunteered from the pack to represent highcliffe cubs at the district event this Thursday
Help the scouts raise money as well as give your garden that summer of colour and breathtaking beauty. Share our link with your friends and family and helps us improve our group
Well Done to the cooking competition team for Highcliffe.
The team came 4th but it waS such a close competition. And you all did fantastic.
But not all was lost, they did WIN the best dessert trophy. Well done.
The Scouts enjoyed fireworks and hot dogs at the Scout Hut this week. The Beavers and Cubs celebrated together on Tuesday, and the Scouts on Friday; there was even some particularly tuneful singing around the campfire!
Many thanks to all the helpers and parents who contributed to a safe and enjoyable time. (Photos from the Scouts meeting).
All four sections of the Highcliffe Scout Group were well represented at both the Christchurch and Highcliffe Remembrance Sunday parades this year. Many thanks to all those immaculately turned out members of the group who attended the services on this beautiful (though cold!) day.
The cubs had great fun on the recent Halloween camp, where we all dressed up and scared each other! Activities included pumpkin carving, spider making, and the creation of brown bats; the cubs also designed their own pizzas. There were trips to the fireworks display in Bransgore, and the Go Ape Tree Top Trail at Moor’s Valley; just how many times did some of the cubs go round the course?!
The camp ran from Thursday to Sunday, and we would like to thank all the helpers that came along and did their bit. As with all of our camps the main aim is for the cubs to have FUN – and we could not do this without the help of the parents.
Congratulations to our cubs who came first at the recent District Swimming Gala. They performed brilliantly in their races as well as working really well with the scout troop. .
Well done to you all!
We started our camping season this year in March and held a skills camp at the scout hut in Highcliffe. We had a good number of scouts attending.
The scouts enjoyed late nights as they were engrosed in the Bear grylls DVD, they also enjoyed cooking breakfast on an open fire.
The skills we taught are fire lighting, how to use an axe ( only a couple of near misses) and pioneering.
The scouts had a fab time.
